June 21 – Czech Republic vs Portugal : Looking back at the start of the tournament, it’s strange to see either of these teams still competing at all. Czech Republic enters the quarter-finals with the worst goal differential of any team in Euro 2012, while Portugal can thank an unlucky Netherlands squad for permitting them to get out of the “Group of Death.” The Navigadores have proven themselves to be about equal in offense and defense, as captain Cristiano Ronaldo scored his team’s two goals to put them over the Netherlands in the last round, while Czech Republic have seen good work out of Bundesliga players Petr Jiracek and Vaclav Pilar, who have each scored two for their squad.
